Chapter 1: The Strange Visitor
Story Snippet (2) POV: Cristin
“Oh my.” Eed exclaimed from behind, peering over Cristin’s shoulders. “That can’t be right.”
Indeed, but as it stands, no one could deny that what was lying in front of them was not from Crystalys.
The dark skin, vastly different from a Chandalyn’s pure white, the strong build, contrasted to a Chandalyn’s petite frame, and the clothes! Oh my, were those exposed shoulders? And feet? Now that was too much, it was enough to make any Chandalyn uncomfortable. Yes, this individual must be trouble, anyone could see it.
And yet he currently wasn’t doing much of anything, lying there on the marble floor, unconscious, perhaps? He must have been, seeing as the toddlers, uneducated as they currently were, wasted no time in messing with his array of colorful orange possessions; their Aides appearing close to a panic attack, if that was possible. They flew around the children, scolding them in their best ‘this is unacceptable!’ Voices. This was to no avail, as one of the toddlers had already procured for themselves a conical hat that must have belonged to the man, while another struggled to acquire the short overcoat that hung loosely around his shoulders.
“Aides! Get control over your Chandalyn!” Eed commanded, taking things into her own hands before mumbling under her breath, “this generation, so dull.”
Cristin wasn’t sure what to do, he had too many complex thoughts and emotions fighting for control in his body that he was sure he looked simply as if he had left the world altogether, but ultimately his curiosity won him over, and he took another step closer to the creature.
“Maybe it’s a human?” One of the nervous Aides squeaked.
Naturally, this was when the man made a small groaning sound as his lips parted, and his eyes fluttered open, making Cristin fumble back a few steps.
The man’s eyes were a striking yellow, contrasting vastly with the sclera, which was, instead of white, black.
So I guess human was out of the question.
