The Elders are the leaders of Crystalys’s society, their actual appearance is always covered, and no one knows when they are replaced. This gives them a feeling of never changing. The Elders are always the Elders, they will always exist as such and will never be seen as anything else, this means no one could even tell you how many has existed during their reign, because as far as anyone is concerned, they have never changed.
The Elders are known to wear long gowns with crystal accessories, their legs are never displayed and their clothing will reach up to their necks and over their heads. The hair is always covered, they always wear a mask. In summary, everything they wear is to be as covering as possible to make them near indistinguishable from each other. They are shown to be the pinnacle of Crystalys’s modesty, ’perfection,’ and timelessness, though their temperaments can be quite foul…
(Here’s a small secret between you and I, the tallest recorded Chandalyn in history was 6’0”, yet each Elder is at least 6’5”, my conclusion? They’re standing on pedestals under those gowns, literally)
